Auger boring

South Carolina-based McLaughlin Group, a manufacturer of vacuum excavation equipment, has introduced the Strong Arm – a heavy-duty, steel arm mounted on the vacuum excavator to help carry the weight of the vacuum excavation hose. The unit has been designed as an economical, labour-saving device when undertaking vacuum excavation work.
During operation, the weight of the hose is carried by a tank-mounted attachment, as opposed to the operator having to bear the weight of not only the hose, but also the debris that has been vacuumed. This is said to reduce operator fatigue and improve productivity.
Strong Arm provides 200° of rotation and extends 1.8m from the tank, providing a wide range of operation for many applications.
The attachment is currently available on all McLaughlin 500 and 800gal (1,893L and 3,028L) models. It can also be added to existing McLaughlin vacuum units at Vermeer dealerships – all of which distribute McLaughlin vacuum excavators.
